Introductions
Hello,
I’m a Master’s Graduate Playwright from the University of Arkansas, and I am qualified to manage productions of a Theatrical and Television nature, teach said subjects to a college-level class, and aid in the advertising of such productions. I’ve also obtained degrees beyond the realm of my expertise, and I plan to and do apply them to all aspects of my career.
Being a playwright, I have written over fifteen full-length plays and multiple one act and 10-minute plays. While earning my degree, it was expected of me to write complete stories within a day’s time, workshop them the next day, and then do a full revision based on advice and requests within even less time. While my plays were being produced by others, I was on call all the time for explanations, interpretations, and sharing research with the directors whenever they asked for it. If there was a conflict between the script and production, I was more than happy to hastily edit the original work to solve any issues.
As a Director, I have had to plan, direct, write, produce, and create entire plays out of nothing more than willing actors, my time, and a little bit of pocket change. Many times I’ve been in the situation where I had no one else to rely on but myself, and I managed to create a full production. I’ve also had the opportunity to teach a class about my art, and within said class, expected them to manage their own productions as the final.
My teaching experience at a college level has given me the tools needed to help educate on theatrical subjects. I have planned out in detail syllabi that showed the natural progression of my teaching style along with expectations of the student's participation and work. Working with people with questions of their own has helped by think on my toes and change my teaching style according to their needs. However, I have not allowed myself to break my rules in order to keep them satisfied, for order is necessary if there is any true learning to be had.
For my filming and editing experience, I am the winner of two 3rd place awards in the Student Film Contest in the University of Arkansas. In these films, I’ve had to act, create props, direct, and most importantly edit every single film. I am well versed in Adobe Photoshop and Premier, and I have animation and green screen experience. However, I am a fast learner when it comes to computer programs, and I’m sure I’ll adapt to whatever programs you prefer to use.
If you need proof of my editing or writing skills, I’ll be more than happy to send you my material via email or through Youtube postings. Honestly, I love marketing, social entertainment, and entertainment, and I want the chance to use my skills in a positive, productive atmosphere.
